Sergio Frias Corona
Sergio Frias Corona is a prominent performer and instructor of classical guitar in Mexico. He founded the International Guitar Festival of the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico and currently serves as Deputy Director.
Each season, we present visiting artists, local professionals, and advanced student ensembles at various locations including the Arlette Day Cultural Arts Center, Kearns Library, Marmalade Library, Jordan Valley Conservation Garden Park, the Natural History Museum of Utah, local art galleries, and other public spaces.

Suggested Donation:
$20 per class, or $90 if you commit to all five classes in either block.
Sergio Frias has a Master’s degree in concert music performance from the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Classical and Electric guitar with more than 20 years of experience as the Chair of the guitar department and deputy director at the Conservatory. He has taught in basic education as well. He is a Research Professor at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico, and has performed as a recording session and live concert stage musician for various bands and artists.

Andrew York
Andrew York is one of today's best loved composers for classical guitar and a performer of international stature. Andrew received a Grammy Award as a member of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet during his sixteen years with the cutting-edge ensemble.

Gohar will teach a two-hour class with selected student players and an audience. This event is free and open to the public, benefiting teachers, students, all musicians, and community members interested in hearing great artists talk about music.

Utah Classical Guitar welcomes all classical guitar players and listeners to the Open Mic Nights. The intent of the program is to provide live and virtual performance opportunities to share your music with others. This is a great opportunity to try out some new repertoire, polish a performance piece, or gain experience playing for others in a recital setting. All ages and abilities, solo, and guitar-based ensembles are welcome.

Sarah Palma, with her classical guitar student ensembles, will be hosting a guitar concert* next Tuesday, the 10th, at Providence Hall High School in Herriman. The event is open to the public.
