The Basics and More of the Guitar: Take your Playing Skill to the Next Level

UCG seeks to bring classical guitar back to the general community through this series of workshops.

All levels -- Basic to Advanced
History of the guitar, staff reading, technique, practice strategies,
anxiety management, emotions, and inspiration.


Sergio Frias has a Master’s degree in concert music performance from the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Classical and Electric guitar with more than 20 years of experience as the Chair of the guitar department and deputy director at the Conservatory. He has taught in basic education as well. He is a Research Professor at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico, and has performed as a recording session and live concert stage musician for various bands and artists.

RIGHT HAND

·       Tone production

·       Nail length and shape

·       Rest stroke (apoyando) -Position, movement, planting, pressure, release

·       Free stroke (tirando)

·       Exercises right hand finger independence
