Performance Opportunity

Jordan Valley Conservation Garden Park

West Jordan

UCG has again been invited by the management team at Jordan Valley Conservation Garden Park in West Jordan to provide live music during the summer. UCG provided summertime music at JVCGP in 2021, 2022, 2023.  We did not do it last year, due to major construction and blocked access on 1300 West.

The remaining dates (all Saturdays) are:
   July 19
   August 16
   September 20
(all dates are tentative, based on weather!)

Performance times are roughly 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. You are welcome to perform at slightly different times if it works better for your schedule.

What's involved?
The JVCGP is a large botanical garden open to the public.  Performers will pick out a place in the park and provide "outdoor ambience music" for the Park guests.  Any unamplified repertoire is fine. You will need to provide your own music stand, if needed.  There are several dozen benches and sitting areas throughout the Park.

Do I Get Paid?
This is a voluntary performance, not paid.  JVCGP does allow performers to put out tip jars, or to sell their CDs.

How Good A Player Do I Have To Be?
Performers should be comfortable playing for others.  The majority of the time, Park guests are simply walking past, and there is little interaction.  Sometimes a guest may stand or sit and actively listen for a bit, and maybe ask you about your music.

Do I Have to Commit to Playing at Every Session?
No.  You can sign up for whichever date(s) you want to.

How Do I Sign Up?
Please send an email to admin@utahclassicalguitar.org with a subject line "JVCGP Performances".
