Wyatt DeFord
Wyatt DeFord is a classical guitarist based in Salt Lake City, currently studying at the University of Utah and recently featured in the Volterra Project in Italy. His performances blend expressive artistry with a commitment to community, including appearances on the Resonance Unbound album and in benefit concerts for local causes.

Wyatt DeFord is a classical guitarist based in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Currently studying on scholarship at the University of Utah with Todd Woodbury, he is in his third year of pursuing a Classical Guitar Performance undergraduate degree. Before relocating to Salt Lake City, he studied for 7 years with Javier de los Santos in Grand Junction, Colorado. In 2025, he was a participant in the 19th edition of the Volterra Project in Tuscany, Italy, studying with world-class artists such as Antigoni Goni, Maarten Vandenbemden, and Luca Isolani.
Throughout his studies he has been an active performer and community member, performing two solo charity concerts, one in Grand Junction, CO, raising money for The House, a teen homeless shelter, and one in Fruita, CO, raising money for the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance. He has also performed in an ensemble at an annual gala for HopeWest, a nonprofit hospice care organization. In 2023 he was invited to perform on the album “Resonance Unbound” by established composer Elizabet Curbelo, published by Neuma Records in 2024.
Along with his performance career, Wyatt is a passionate teacher. Since moving to Utah he has taught a number of private students, ranging from early childhood students to adults. He has gained experience in teaching beginner to intermediate classical guitar, also teaching styles such as folk, rock, and pop. He prides himself in developing a curriculum centered around creating motivated and well rounded musicians, no matter the genre.
